Our client, a leading Kitchen and bathroom specialist, is currently seeking to recruit a driver to join their team in Newtownabbey. Pay rate is £12.21 per hour plus benefits. The position is immediate and is full time temporary ongoing.
Purpose of the role: The main purpose of the role is to ensure deliveries are loaded correctly and delivered to site on time, as well as providing assistance to the warehouse team in loading deliveries and checking the load with the delivery docket to ensure the correct products have been picked and loaded for delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivering goods to site on schedule as directed by the Senior Stores Person.
- Effectively communicating any delays with deliveries to both the customer contact and the Senior Stores Person.
- Assist the warehouse team with the loading of vehicles and ensure correct products and quantities are in order.
- Ensure all stock loaded is checked for damage and report any damage to Senior Stores Person.
- Ensure compliance of standard warehouse and transport operating procedure.
- Housekeeping duties within the warehouse for the purpose of maintaining a safe working environment when required.
- Health and Safety awareness at all times.
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any faults or areas of concern.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years driving experience.
- Clean Driving License.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Basic IT Skills.
- CPC Licence desirable.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
- Deliveries are made on schedule.
- Ensuring the correct goods are loaded and delivered to site.
- Compliance with Health and Safety Laws and Regulations.
- All duties and tasks are undertaken and performed in an efficient, accurate manner resulting in excellent service provision.
