The Role
Wrightbus is looking for Body Preparation Operatives to join its team in Ballymena. This is a great opportunity for individuals with experience in surface preparation, sanding, masking, and repair work, particularly in an automotive or industrial environment. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing aluminium and GRP panels, ensuring all surfaces meet the required quality standards before painting and assembly.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare aluminium and GRP panels using orbital sanders and rubbing blocks.
- Identify and repair small dents and imperfections in panels and GRP products.
- Carry out masking of windows, doors, lights, and apertures to protect surfaces during painting.
- Perform pre-cleaning of buses before transfer into paint booths.
- Work as part of a team to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Essential Criteria
- Experience using hand tools in an industrial or automotive setting.
- Experience with masking tape and masking paper for surface preparation.
- Knowledge of preparing different materials for finishing processes.
