About the Role
We are recruiting a Payroll Officer to join our Finance Shared Services Centre in Belfast. As part of a dedicated Payroll Team, you will ensure the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for agency staff across the UK and Ireland. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work to deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll for agency staff across multiple UK & ROI locations.
- Complete weekly placement and worker exports to payroll, fixing errors where required.
- Carry out weekly payroll checks to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare timesheet exports in correct formats and resolve transfer errors.
- Reconcile and review payrolls.
- Process statutory payments and deduction orders.
- Issue payslips and P45s.
- Generate invoices as required.
- Liaise with Branch and Onsite teams to resolve payroll queries promptly.
- Process holiday pay and maintain accurate CRM records.
- Handle payroll queries, escalating when necessary.
- Provide support to the Head of Payroll with additional duties as needed.
About You
Essential Criteria:
- At least 1 year's experience in a busy payroll department (may increase to 3 years for shortlisting).
- Excellent IT proficiency, particularly MS Excel.
- Experience using computerised finance or payroll systems.
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Desirable:
- Experience with Pay & Bill software.
