The Irish Football Association (Irish FA), the governing body for football in Northern Ireland, is seeking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its senior leadership team at an exciting time of strategic growth and investment. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will provide strategic financial leadership across the Irish FA Group, supporting sustainable commercial growth, robust governance and long-term financial resilience. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to influence major capital projects, strengthen financial performance and contribute to the continued development of football across Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial direction as a key member of the senior leadership team
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting across the organisation.
- Support commercial growth initiatives and major capital investment decisions
- Ensure robust governance, risk management and regulatory compliance
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including funding bodies, auditors and governing organisations
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes and business partnering
Essential Criteria
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Significant senior finance leadership experience within a commercial environment
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic mindset
- Experience influencing executive teams and Boards
- Track record of leading teams and driving organisational change
- Credible, collaborative leader with high levels of integrity
