The Domestic Assistant provides general cleaning.
Key Result Areas / Main Responsibilities:
- Floor maintenance duties to include use of vacuum cleaners, buffing and floor scrubbing machines.
- Cleaning all sanitary areas.
- Cleaning of all furniture/fittings and general dusting duties, low- and high-level cleaning.
- Cleaning of walls, windows, glass partitions and other periodic duties as required such as carpet cleaning.
- The collection and removal of waste and replacement of waste sacks, hand towels, soaps, toilet rolls, etc.
- Receipt and storage of cleaning materials.
- Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Support Services Supervisor and General Manager Domestic Services Trustwide.
- Observation of Trust Policies and Procedures relating to Domestic Services as instructed.
- Removal and re-changing of bed screens and curtains.
General Responsibilities:
- Promote and support the mission and vision of the service for which they are responsible.
- Provide a caring service and treat those with whom they come into contact in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Carry out their duties and responsibilities in a manner which assures patient and client safety.
- Comply with all instructions regarding Infection Prevention and Control.
- Demonstrate commitment by regular attendance and efficient completion of all tasks allocated to them.
- Comply with the Trust's Smoke Free Policy.
- Carry out their duties and responsibilities in compliance with health and safety policy and statutory regulations.
