Staffline is recruiting on behalf of HSCNI for a Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join the laboratory team at Ulster Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a high-quality laboratory service that supports efficient and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake routine laboratory investigations in the assigned department.
- Interpret, validate, and report results, ensuring abnormal findings are communicated promptly to requesting clinicians within the Trust and to GPs.
- Manage and develop your professional skills through completion of a specialist portfolio (as applicable), attendance at courses, and participation in CPD and in-service training.
- Maintain a portfolio of personal development and competence assessment.
Essential Criteria:
- Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Biomedical Scientist.
- Completed the IBMS Specialist Diploma (or equivalent*) in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 1 year’s post-HCPC registration experience in the relevant discipline.
OR
- Employed as a Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Band 6) for at least 3 of the last 6 years in the relevant discipline, maintaining HCPC registration throughout.
