About the Role - Transport & Operations Graduates

Are you a recent or post‑graduate, ready to make a real difference in your local community? This local Authority Council is looking for motivated, collaborative graduates to join their Transport, Logistics, Operations and Environmental Green Spaces Services teams. As a graduate, this is your opportunity to develop hands‑on expertise in operational planning, Greenspaces, grounds and fleet & transport management, including waste and recycling collections, and environmental services. Growing and developing your career and knowledge within a supportive and inclusive workplace.

As a Transport, Logistics and Operations Graduate, you will:

  • Support and learn across transport operations, collections, fleet transport and environmental services, helping to ensure efficient, safe, and sustainable delivery of council services.
  • Work closely with experienced logistics, waste, transport and fleet professionals to plan routes, manage fleets, manage grounds, green spaces, and optimise services to meet community needs.
  • Through this work, you will support the delivery of improved transport and a safer, more inclusive, and more sustainable transport network.
  • Develop your skills in health & safety, compliance, and operational management in real‑world environments.
  • Rotational exposure to fleet operations, logistics, highways, environmental services, and green spaces.
  • Opportunities to participate in projects, audits, community initiatives, or planning improvements.
  • Exposure to systems, planning tools, and operational technologies.
  • Gain experience across fleet management, maintenance, and environmental services, contributing to projects that directly impact your community.

Who We're Looking For - Transport & Operations Graduates

You are:

  • A recent graduate or post‑graduate with some part‑time, full‑time or intern work experience to date.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to learn in a fast‑moving, people‑focused environment.
  • An interest in Supply Chain, Operational Services, Logistics, and Transport.
  • Collaborative and confident working in teams and with communities.
  • Interested in transport, logistics, operations, and environmental sustainability.
  • Committed to health, safety, and compliance in operational settings.
  • Collaborative, inclusive, motivated, community‑focused and a responsible individual.
  • An interest in Government Administration, local authority or the Public Sector.
  • Experience of collecting, using, analyzing and interpreting data and information.
