Job Title: Control Room Operator
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts – 6am-6pm on Saturday and/or Sunday (weekends only)
Job Objectives:
- Responding to alarms promptly and accurately
- Providing customer service and demonstrating good knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Achieving Daily and Individual KPIs
- Reporting incidents related to alarms
Main Duties:
- Managing incoming and outgoing calls efficiently
- Testing client sites for alarm systems, e.g., Fire Alarm Testing
- Remaining calm during genuine incidents, documenting details, and notifying relevant personnel
- Logging all alarm-related details and preparing incident reports for clients
- Adhering to correct procedures and processes
- Collaborating as part of a team to meet operational expectations
- Acting as a Primary operator for key accounts such as NBS, FUJI, RR, SAINS, EE
- Conducting proactive monitoring (e.g., camera and audio checks) for specific clients
- Using intercoms and passwords to operate access control systems at certain sites
Person Specification:
- Previous experience in switchboard or call centre roles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage workload to meet deadlines
- Willingness to learn, develop, and maintain high professionalism
- Must have a verifiable 5-year history
- Must pass PSNI checks and industry-standard screening (BS5979 and BS7858)
