Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcomed and assisted visitors on site, providing information, signposting, tours, and support for admissions, memberships, and zoo-wide promotional activities.
- Promoted and processed commercial packages and membership schemes, including issuing and re-issuing membership cards and maintaining accurate membership records and databases.
- Delivered front-of-house retail services within the souvenir shop, including sales transactions, customer service, merchandising, pricing, and stock replenishment in line with Trading Standards requirements.
- Managed goods-in processes, checking deliveries, signing delivery notes, and maintaining appropriate stock levels to maximise sales.
- Conducted regular stock checks, provided accurate stock information to management, and carried out basic analysis of sales trends to support stock planning.
- Maintained high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across public and staff areas, including waste removal and disposal in accordance with council procedures.
- Undertook general and specialist cleaning duties, including operation of mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment, ensuring safe and effective use at all times.
- Supported the organisation and delivery of events, promotional campaigns, exhibitions, and education activities, including preparation of display materials.
- Carried out general labouring duties as required, including setup, dismantling, maintenance, and storage of seating and equipment.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must, as at the closing date for receipt of applications: Driving License AND be able to demonstrate at least one year's relevant experience of: cash handling and dealing with enquiries from customers; and general and specific cleaning duties, for example, of public and staff toilets.
