Staffline is recruiting on behalf of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive for a Groundsperson to join the South Antrim Grounds team. This role involves delivering a comprehensive grounds maintenance service across NIHE estates, ensuring outdoor areas are maintained to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a range of grounds maintenance equipment (mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, chainsaws, tractors)
- Carry out grass cutting, hedge trimming, and general landscaping duties
- Maintain shrub beds and grassed areas including planting, pruning, weeding, and reseeding
- Undertake fencing, ground preparation, and minor landscaping works
- Remove litter, debris, fly-tipping materials, and other waste
- Use spraying equipment for weed control and pesticide application (in line with COSHH)
- Load and unload tools, materials, and waste
- Carry out minor maintenance and repairs to equipment
- Maintain accurate records using paperwork and mobile devices
- Deliver high standards of customer service when working in occupied areas
- Follow all health & safety procedures and wear PPE as required
Candidate Requirements
- 1-5 years' relevant experience in grounds maintenance or similar
- Full valid driving licence including B1+E / C1+E (essential)
- Ability to operate grounds maintenance machinery
- Good level of physical fitness
- Reliable with strong timekeeping
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Awareness of health & safety practices
- Basic IT skills desirable

- Access NI Check: Basic clearance required
- Holiday Entitlement: 23 days plus 12 public holidays (pro rata)
- Facilities: Canteen and toilets available at depot (majority of work site-based)
- PPE & Equipment: Provided where required
