We are currently recruiting a National Workshop Vehicle Technician (Master Technician/Senior Technician) to work for our premium automotive client. This exciting opportunity will allow you to work for one of the biggest car manufacturers, onsite at their Headquarters in Farnborough. The rate of pay depends on experience. Overtime is available at this site. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 16:15pm, 37.5 hours a week.

Your Time at Work

  • Investigate, diagnose, and rectify all products, including pre-series, vehicle electric vehicles, and customer cars that remain unresolved within the dealer network. It is essential that the fault be rectified first time and to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Provide support to Marketing and Sales Departments at events, providing technical support, advice, and enhanced general vehicle preparation.
  • Communicate with customers and senior managers.
  • Work with minimal information to diagnose, identify, and rectify complex parts and technical problems on vehicles with consideration to safety, good engineering practice, long-term effects, and cost effectiveness. Report findings and solutions appropriately.
  • Inspect, maintain, investigate, and report on pre-production and Press vehicles, including high-security vehicles, identifying faults and design problems.
  • Assist with the research and development of the product and continuously improve its quality, design, and technology.
  • Provide technical and event support to the Corporate Communication department across all new model product launches.

Purpose and subject of interaction with internal / external customers and key contacts

  • Provide technical and event support to the Corporate Communication department, Marketing and Product teams across all new model product launches.
  • Work in harmony with the complete technical department, working with the front desk and back desk teams and the homologation department in the process of campaigns and recalls.
  • Provide support and guidance to internal departments through experience and expertise regarding new products and product launches.
  • Provide technical and event support to numerous internal and external event companies, including Television and major sporting events.

Challenges with regard to innovation and change

  • Keep abreast of the latest technical innovations, diagnostic techniques and software, embracing training both in the UK and in Germany as and when required.
  • Work under pressure in unfamiliar surroundings, incorporating a flexible approach to working hours, travelling sometimes at short notice, being prepared to stay away from home.
  • Develop new working practices in line with new technologies.
  • Embrace new technologies (i.e., electric drive) and become an authority on this subject to allow repair of early preproduction vehicles with limited information available.
  • Adapt to unpredictable and changing circumstances when working on a foreign vehicle launched, under the critical eye of the UK media.
