Permanent job opportunity for a Farm Assistant. Do you enjoy working indoors and outdoors? Are you flexible to work 5 days out of 7? Are you able to work overtime when required? We are looking for a farm assistant; the role will involve supporting the farm management teams.
Experience is advantageous; however, training can be provided.
Working hours: 7.30am to 3.30pm. Please note flexibility is required due to the nature of the business.
In your role as mobile farm assistant:
- Labouring, some physical work
- Cleaning out sheds and farm areas
- Maintain required high standards of housekeeping, ensuring that the farm is kept clean and tidy, all roadways are free of litter and weeds
- Grass cutting
- Reducing the risk of vermin contamination
- Poultry welfare
- To maintain correct and up to date records of all matters relating to birds, food, supplies etc.
- To assist other operations such as vaccinating, bird weighing and catching and collection, thus maintaining a smooth operation through processing
- To monitor ventilation, heating, feed, water and lighting patterns within agreed guidelines, so that the highest quality atmosphere and condition in which the birds can thrive is achieved
- Safe use of chemicals
- To learn and operate all equipment and machinery
- All other associated tasks
Our ideal candidate:
- Experience in a similar environment
- Holds a food hygiene certificate
- Willing to learn and gain a full understanding of poultry
- Responsible and an effective communicator
- Have a basic understanding and working knowledge of the operation of all equipment on the farm
- A full UK driving licence and own transport is advantageous, due to the location
Rate of pay: £13.12 per hr, 1.5 overtime rate.
