Trade Counter & Stores Advisor Location: Huddersfield Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 p/a DOE Hours: Full Time 37.5 Hours per Week, Monday - Thursday 8:15am - 4:45pm (45 Minute Lunch), Friday 8:15am - 3:45pm (1 hour lunch) Part Time applications are also welcomed. Benefits: 25+8 Holidays, Pension Scheme, Free Parking, Cycle to Work Scheme, Training and Ongoing Development Stafflex are recruiting for a Trade Counter & Stores Advisor to join an established and growing business in Huddersfield. This is a varied position combining trade counter/customer service, with goods in/out and general stores duties, with the opportunity to develop additional technical product knowledge through training. We're keen to hear from people who have previous experience within a trade counter or goods in/out or similar environments and are comfortable dealing with customers as part of their role. You'll be joining a hands-on team where no two days are exactly the same, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to develop their skills in a technical environment. Key Responsibilities: Serving customers on the trade counter and providing excellent customer service Building positive relationships with new and existing customers Receiving incoming goods and ensuring products are handled correctly Picking, preparing and despatching customer orders Preparing products and equipment for customer collection or delivery Supporting the organisation and day-to-day running of the stores Reviewing products and pricing to identify sales opportunities Carrying out basic technical tasks and product preparation (following training) Supporting equipment demonstrations as your product knowledge develops Making occasional local deliveries Opening and closing the premises when required Maintaining high standards of housekeeping Following Health & Safety procedures at all timesAbout you: We're looking for someone practical, reliable and customer-focused, who is happy working across both the trade counter and stores. You may be currently working as a Trade Counter Assistant, Trade Counter Sales Advisor, Stores Person, Goods In/Goods Out Operative or similar. You'll ideally have: Good customer service and communication skills A positive attitude with a strong work ethic Great attention to detail Good organisational and time management skills Confident use in computer based systems, including Microsoft Office A team-first approach and willingness to learn.Essential Requirements: Previous trade counter, stores or goods in/out experienceDesirable but not essential: A full UK driving license with no pending disqualifications Welding or engineering knowledge/experienceIf you're looking for a varied role where you can combine practical stores work with customer interaction and develop additional skills, we'd love to hear from you.
