Are you a caring, resilient, and adaptable Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Stafflex Education is recruiting dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of primary schools throughout Huddersfield and Kirklees. We have both short-term and long-term opportunities available from September, offering flexibility alongside rewarding, meaningful work supporting children to reach their full potential.

About the Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEND needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and communication difficulties.
  • Support pupils in accessing learning activities and engaging positively within the classroom environment.
  • Assist with emotional regulation, social development, and independence skills.
  • Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored support strategies and learning plans.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Support behaviour management and promote positive outcomes for pupils.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in education, care, youth work, or similar settings.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Team Teach, Makaton, or equivalent are desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to support with personal care where required.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Stafflex Education.
