Hours: Full Time 37.5 Hours per Week, Monday - Thursday 8:15am - 4:45pm (45 Minute Lunch), Friday 8:15am - 3:45pm (1 hour lunch). Part Time applications are also welcomed.

Stafflex are recruiting for a Trade Counter & Stores Advisor to join an established and growing business in Huddersfield. This is a varied position combining trade counter/customer service, with goods in/out and general stores duties, with the opportunity to develop additional technical product knowledge through training.
We're keen to hear from people who have previous experience within a trade counter or goods in/out or similar environments and are comfortable dealing with customers as part of their role. You'll be joining a hands-on team where no two days are exactly the same, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to develop their skills in a technical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serving customers on the trade counter and providing excellent customer service
- Building positive relationships with new and existing customers
- Receiving incoming goods and ensuring products are handled correctly
- Picking, preparing and despatching customer orders
- Preparing products and equipment for customer collection or delivery
- Supporting the organisation and day-to-day running of the stores
- Reviewing products and pricing to identify sales opportunities
- Carrying out basic technical tasks and product preparation (following training)
- Supporting equipment demonstrations as your product knowledge develops
- Making occasional local deliveries
- Opening and closing the premises when required
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping
- Following Health & Safety procedures at all times
About you:
We're looking for someone practical, reliable and customer-focused, who is happy working across both the trade counter and stores. You may be currently working as a Trade Counter Assistant, Trade Counter Sales Advisor, Stores Person, Goods In/Goods Out Operative or similar.
You'll ideally have:
- Good customer service and communication skills
- A positive attitude with a strong work ethic
- Great attention to detail
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Confident use in computer based systems, including Microsoft Office
- A team-first approach and willingness to learn.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous trade counter, stores or goods in/out experience
Desirable but not essential:
- A full UK driving license with no pending disqualifications
- Welding or engineering knowledge/experience
