What You'll Be Doing:

• As a Cover Supervisor, you will be the sole adult in the classroom, responsible for managing the students and ensuring they stay engaged with pre-set lesson plans.
• You will supervise a range of subjects across the secondary school curriculum, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a positive learning environment, even when faced with challenging situations.
• Strong behaviour management skills are essential, as you will often be expected to manage difficult situations independently.

Key aspects of your role include:

• Leading classes across a range of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged with the pre-set lesson plans.
• Implementing strong and effective classroom behaviour management strategies to maintain order and engagement.
• Creating a positive and productive classroom environment, even when you are the only adult in the room.
• Ensuring the smooth running of the lesson and managing student progress in the teacher's absence.
• Using school IT systems for registering attendance, completing lesson notes, and tracking students' progress.

Who We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in classroom management and a strong ability to engage and control students, even in challenging situations.
• Excellent behaviour management skills, with the resilience and confidence to lead a class as the only adult in the room.
• Familiarity with using school IT systems for attendance, lesson notes, and progress tracking.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive and productive classroom atmosphere.
• Ability to arrive at schools on time, with reliable transportation to get to schools in Huddersfield.
• A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
