An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lab Technician to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Redditch. This position is ideal for someone with a background in chemical analysis and a methodical approach, looking to work in a structured laboratory environment that supports both analytical testing and production operations.
The successful candidate will primarily operate within the chemical analysis lab, while also supporting process control on the shop floor. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow procedures closely, and the initiative to work independently once trained.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct wet chemical analysis (e.g., titrations, pH measurement, sugar content)
- Prepare and standardise stock solutions
- Monitor and analyse trends in process solution data
- Perform hydrogen testing and copper sulphate tests
- Calibrate laboratory testing equipment
- Liaise with the onsite chemical service provider
- Support chemical process audits and assist the HSE team as required
- Ensure accurate data entry via LIMS and maintain good stock control and record-keeping practices
- Follow technical procedures meticulously and support other ad hoc duties when necessary
- Experience with titrations and solution preparation
- Familiarity with calibration of lab equipment
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Experience in NADCAP or ISO 17025-accredited laboratories is desirable
- Flexible approach with the ability to work overtime when required
