The Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled Applications Engineer with expertise in Windows-based software development (C# & VB6) and automation systems. This role involves developing, modifying, and supporting software for complex automation, mechatronic, and data acquisition systems used in cutting-edge automotive and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & modify C# control software using Visual Studio and CADET API.
- Support legacy VB6 systems.
- Diagnose & resolve software, electrical, and mechanical issues in automated systems.
- Interface with 3rd party equipment using protocols like Ethernet, Serial, EtherCAT, CAN, Profibus.
- Develop automation sequences and tests using CADET tools.
- Provide remote and on-site support for customers and engineers.
- Assist design & commissioning engineers to meet customer requirements.
- Source code management via SourceTree, BitBucket, and Jira.
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong engineering background (electrical/control systems).
- Proficiency in C# & Visual Studio (VB6 experience beneficial).
- Experience with automation systems (sensors, actuators, inverters).
- Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or Robotics Engineering with proven experience in automation.
- Ability to work on customer sites occasionally.
- Full UK driving licence.
