We are seeking a Farm Manager with proven leadership skills within a challenging environment, with a view to career progression within our business. We would like to bring new skills into the business so poultry and animal husbandry experience is not essential.

We are a well-established family business operating a world-leading centre of excellence in egg production and marketing close to one billion eggs per year. The business has rearing, laying and packing sites throughout the UK; this role is based at our laying site near Holsworthy, Devon.

Key duties:

  • Supervise and performance monitor all those working on the site
  • Develop and implement KPI’s (e.g. labour, absence, production, biosecurity & hygiene)
  • Ensure compliance with law and quality assurance schemes associated with egg production
  • Monitor bird performance and egg quality, implementing improvement opportunities to ensure happy birds and maximise quality egg production
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Skills & abilities:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills; proven track record of leading a team
  • Exceptional leadership and people skills, tough and resilient, whilst being able to manage through delegation
  • Performance driven with a proven record of success within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and mentor staff
  • Committed to continuous improvement
  • Highly organised and self-motivated
  • Numerate and possessing good analytical skills, with experience of tracking production statistics, variances, KPIs etc.
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to travel and possess a full, clean driving licence

The candidate’s salary will be commensurate with experience in leadership and will be reviewed on the basis of commitment, development of poultry knowledge, compliance and production results. Interviews may take place at any one of our poultry sites (Devon, Wiltshire or Shropshire).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to £45,500.00 per year depending on experience
