The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

As part of our client’s team, the Engineering Stores Controller / Maintenance Scheduler will report to the Site Engineering Manager. The working hours will be Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 16:00. There may be occasions when you are required to work additional hours to provide support and cover for colleagues during their absences.

The primary responsibilities of this position are listed below. However, the Line Manager or any other Manager at our client may request you to undertake additional duties in line with your job responsibilities.

The role involves implementing and coordinating best practice inventory management systems and processes to ensure the required customer service levels while obtaining spare parts at the most cost-effective prices. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to take ownership of the Engineering Stores. Our client is currently implementing a new CMMS system (Mainsaver), rolling out 5S standards in the workshop, and introducing a new planned maintenance team.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Spare parts and refurbishment management, including the implementation of supporting systems and COSHH compliance
  • Tracking and reporting stores performance through CMMS, ensuring stock accuracy and turnover
  • Conducting regular cycle counts and full stock counts
  • Optimising engineering stock spare holdings in line with inventory management and criticality analysis
  • Improving parts descriptions
  • Setting up and managing engineering materials and spares on the company CMMS system (Mainsaver/Spidex)
  • Monitoring, recommending, and improving minimum and maximum order points
  • Acting as the key system user responsible for materials, material group codes, and new suppliers
  • Actively seeking the most cost-effective and efficient spare parts/inventory solutions
  • Processing and ensuring accuracy of all purchase request information
  • Owning and maintaining 5S standards for engineering stores
  • Implementing and maintaining visual management processes and standards
  • Managing supplier delivery performance
  • Developing inventory management improvement techniques
  • Ensuring health and safety for oneself and others
  • Owning the Purchase Order process
  • Understanding the impact of own and others’ actions on achieving site objectives
  • Identifying obsolete stock
  • Liaising with engineering projects to capture and accommodate incoming parts requirements to ensure availability
  • Scheduling daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance plans
  • Effectively managing stores to align planned schedules with material lead times
  • Reviewing maintenance activities and identifying opportunities to improve cost-effectiveness
