Responsibilities in your new role as Safety Health & Environment Assistant:
As a Safety Health & Environment Assistant, you'll support the SHE Manager in developing and promoting an effective SHE management system, helping to drive continuous improvement in SHE and regulatory performance. Your role will include preparing and reviewing risk assessments, maintaining action tracking databases, supporting line managers with SHE training, reviewing contractor documentation, assisting with indicators, and monitoring contractors' performance. You'll also lead and coordinate SHE training, inspections, and audits. You'll assist with wider risk areas including fire safety, emergency planning, security management, and Permit to Work systems.
Your personality, experience and qualifications:
We're looking for someone with approximately 5 years’ experience in SHE Management, ideally gained within a FMCG, manufacturing, or logistics environment. You should have a degree level and/or possess a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Management, coupled with an IOSH or IIRSM membership. A good knowledge of Behavioural Based Safety, along with experience in Environmental Management Systems and Waste Regulations, would be a distinct advantage. Crucially, you will possess excellent communication skills, capable of engaging clearly at all levels, preparing and delivering compelling presentation material, and demonstrating the ability to recognise, challenge, and effectively resolve potentially unsafe situations.
