Our client, within the Accountancy & Financial sector, is looking for a detail-focused team member to support a busy Accounts Payable function. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with purchase ledger, AP or finance assistant experience who enjoys accuracy, supplier communication and keeping finance processes running smoothly.

Your responsibilities as an Accounts Payable Assistant:

As Accounts Payable Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the finance department by ensuring supplier invoices are processed and paid on time. Daily duties will include:

  • Monitoring finance and accounts payable mailboxes
  • Managing supplier queries
  • Coding and inputting purchase ledger invoices
  • Processing banking allocations following payment runs and reconciling supplier statements.

You will liaise with Property Management teams, Client Accountants and suppliers, validate supplier bank details, request refunds and maintain accurate purchase ledger records. You will also support wider finance teams where required and assist with general administration duties.

Your personality, experience and qualifications:

We're looking for someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar Accounts Payable Assistant, Purchase Ledger Assistant or Finance Assistant role. We're looking for:

  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workloads
  • Able to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive and self-motivated approach to work
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Positive attitude towards continuous improvement
  • Willingness to support colleagues and wider finance teams
  • Previous experience within a relevant industry, such as commercial property, would be advantageous
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a related subject would be beneficial but is not essential
