Responsibilities in your new role as Chef Manager:

As the Chef Manager, you will be pivotal in elevating the college's catering service. Key responsibilities include:

• Consulting with customers to develop and implement service improvements.
• Preparing and cooking high-quality meals, and directing catering staff in food production.
• Ensuring robust financial control through effective recipe management, monthly stock takes, diligent purchasing from nominated suppliers, and accurate invoice coding.
• Leveraging systems data for strong daily financial management, waste reduction, and cost control, including overseeing cash handling security.
• Managing all aspects of staff, from recruitment, induction, training, and development, to weekly time sheets, wage analysis, return-to-work interviews, and annual PDPs.
• Ensuring strict adherence to food hygiene, health & safety, and COSHH legislative requirements.
• Maintaining impeccable cleanliness of all kitchen and serving areas.
• Representing the catering department in meetings and undertaking other duties appropriate to this significant post.

Your personality, experience and qualifications:

You will be a qualified Chef with robust managerial skills and demonstrable experience in a catering environment within the hospitality industry. You will also bring:

• A high level of adaptability, comfortable covering unsociable hours including weekends, split shifts, early mornings, and late evenings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong organisational and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with modern software packages.

Required Qualifications & Certifications:

• Minimum qualification of City & Guilds 706 (1 & 2) or SVQ equivalent.
• HND or equivalent in Hospitality.
• Essential basic and intermediate food hygiene certifications.
