Are you an experienced Sous Chef looking for an opportunity to showcase your cooking skills? Stafffinders are currently looking for Sous Chefs to work in a variety of well-established venues across Glasgow and the surrounding area, including weekdays and weekends. Salary can be up to £38,000 per annum depending on the client.

Your responsibilities as a Sous Chef:

  • Support the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Supervise, motivate, and train kitchen staff to maintain high culinary and hygiene standards.
  • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation.
  • Maintain quality control across all dishes, ensuring consistency in taste, portion, and presentation.
  • Monitor stock levels, control costs, and assist with ordering and inventory management.
  • Uphold all food safety, health, and hygiene regulations in line with company and legal standards.
  • Take charge of the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Contribute creative ideas for new dishes, specials, and menu improvements.
  • Ensure effective communication and teamwork across all kitchen sections.
  • Manage time efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining composure and leadership.

Your personality, experience and qualifications:

We are looking for Sous Chefs who are ready to join a team on a permanent basis and hit the ground running. You will have sound knowledge of allergens and dietary requirements, as well as knowledge of health and safety procedures. You should have a strong ability to work as part of a team and independently. As an individual, you should have excellent attention to detail, possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude and be able to meet targets in a highly demanding environment.
