Responsibilities in your new role as Sous Chef:
- Support the Head Chef with all aspects of kitchen leadership and food production.
- Prepare and present high-quality dishes for the restaurant, private dining, and events.
- Help keep the kitchen organised, maintain excellent hygiene, and ensure all food safety standards are met.
- Step up to lead the team when the Head Chef is away.
- Mentor junior chefs and apprentices.
- Assist with menu development, food costing, and ordering.
- Encourage creativity and learning in the kitchen.
- Take part in company events and help uphold our 5-star service standards.
Your personality, experience and qualifications:
We are looking for someone with previous experience as a Sous Chef in a fast-paced, fine-dining environment. A background in a 1 Rosette or higher-rated kitchen is preferred, along with formal culinary training and relevant qualifications. You should have a strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management, and be creative, hands-on, and calm under pressure. Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills are essential, along with a genuine passion for food quality, innovation, and teamwork.
