Our client is a very successful manufacturing business and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Engineering Supervisor.

We are seeking an experienced electrical bias engineer with excellent management and/or supervisory experience to manage and control all maintenance and CAP-ex projects activities at a large heavy industry processing plant near Wimbledon.

The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing all planned & reactive maintenance activities and some CAPEX project work.
  • Management & control of a small team of maintenance engineers and also external contractors.
  • Planning, managing and controlling all maintenance activities and engineering projects.
  • Effective Budget and CAPEX Project management.
  • Monitoring, sourcing and ordering spare and replacement parts.
  • Ensuring adequate staff training, recruitment and disciplinary needs are met.
  • Adopting a continuous improvement approach and helping to deliver efficiency and cost savings where possible.
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal and HSE requirements.
  • Providing 'Hands-on' assistance with electrical and mechanical engineering maintenance and repair of plant and machinery.

You will be a competent electrical engineer with previous engineering supervisor or manager experience, ideally with previous experience in heavy industry or manufacturing environment e.g. foundry, quarry, recycling or chemical manufacturing.

You will have at least 5 years management/supervisory experience and you must be confident in leading a team of engineers and external contractors.

You will hold a recognised electrical engineering qualification and ideally you will be trained in health & safety management to IOSH or NEBOSH level. You will have a recognised qualification in electrical engineering e.g. HNC, degree or 18th edition certification and you will have good knowledge and understanding of PLC systems.

Monday to Friday

Excellent basic salary negotiable £65K + benefits, bonus, 31 days annual leave, pension.
