Our client is an established manufacturer of automated machinery and due to their continued success, Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Electrical Controls and Software Design Engineer.
The Role: The Electrical Controls and Software Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of new controls and PLC software systems for a wide range of automated packaging machinery. Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Design electrical controls using AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN software
- Write and develop PLC code using Rockwell and Beckhoff
- Write and develop HMI, servo motion and safety code using various software
- Attend customer meetings and design review meetings
- Assist with machine commissioning remote and/or on site
Candidate: The electrical controls and software design engineer will be an experienced electrical design engineer with excellent software design and PLC/HMI programming skills using Rockwell, Beckhoff and Zennon. You will have at least 3 years experience in a similar role and ideally you will have a good knowledge and understanding of control systems for automated machinery. You must have a minimum HNC/HND engineering qualification in electrical engineering and you will be competent in the use of AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN design software.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs
