Our client is a very successful manufacturing business and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Engineering / Maintenance Supervisor.
We are seeking an experienced electrical bias engineer with excellent management and/or supervisory experience to manage and control electrical engineering and maintenance and CAP-ex projects activities at a large heavy industry processing plant near Croydon.
The Role:
The Engineering / Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all planned & reactive electrical maintenance activities and project work. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain and develop the existing CMMS
- Management & control of a small team of maintenance engineers and also external contractors
- Plan, manage and control all maintenance activities and engineering projects
- Effective Budget and CAPEX Project management
- Monitoring, sourcing and ordering spare and replacement parts
- Ensure adequate staff training, recruitment and disciplinary needs are met
- Adopt a continuous improvement approach and help to deliver efficiency and cost savings where possible
- Ensure compliance with all legal and HSE requirements
- Provide "Hands-on" assistance with electrical and mechanical engineering maintenance and repair of plant and machinery.
Candidate:
You will be a competent electrical engineer with previous maintenance manager or supervisory experience, ideally with previous experience in a heavy industry manufacturing environment e.g. foundry, quarry, recycling or chemical manufacturing. You will have at least 5 years management/supervisory experience and you must be confident in leading a team of engineers and external contractors. You will hold a recognised electrical engineering qualification and ideally you will be trained in health & safety management to IOSH or NEBOSH level. You will have a recognised qualification in electrical engineering e.g. HNC, degree or 18th edition certification and you will have good knowledge and understanding of PLC systems. We are seeking a highly organised and effective leader who will maintain a visible presence on the shop floor.
