Our client is a leading OEM specialising in packaging machinery and due to their continued success, Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Sales Manager.

This is a home based role and you will be targeting new business sales in Central and Southern UK.

The Role: Reporting to the Sales Director, you will be responsible for delivering effective sales business development activities to promote machinery sales throughout the UK. Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and follow-up sales enquiries and undertake client visits
  • Sales and business development activities including prospecting, sales calls and marketing work as required
  • Liaise with external clients and internal technical teams to establish and specify machinery suitable for customer requirements
  • Attend product/trade exhibitions & events
  • Provide regular sales activity reports to directors

Candidate: We are seeking candidates who have a proven track record in sales of packaging and/or other automated machinery. You must have experience in selling to the food & FMCG manufacturing sectors. Applicants will have previous sales/technical sales experience and good knowledge of packaging machinery. You will have sufficient technical or engineering knowledge required to engage professionally with existing and new potential clients. You will display all the interpersonal qualities associated with a successful sales professional. This is a home based field sales role and you will be expected to undertake occasional European travel.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (40 hours)
