Our client is one of the world leading manufacturers of automated machinery for the food processing industry. Due to their continued success, Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance service and repair activities at client sites throughout the UK.
The Role:
- Reporting to the service manager, you will be responsible for machine maintenance, service and repair activities on customer sites.
- Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Installation, maintenance, service and repair of automated machinery including conveyors, slicing, dicing, cutting, pick and place and rotary machinery.
- Mechanical maintenance activities will involve the removal and replacement of broken and worn component parts such as chains, sprockets, linear bearings, etc.
- Electrical fault finding and repair on motors, servos, 415v and 24v circuits (ability to read electrical schematics/drawings is essential).
- Some PLC work including checking outputs/inputs will be required.
- Providing operational training for customers.
Candidate:
- The successful candidate will have excellent electrical/mechanical maintenance experience. Applicants with previous automated machine maintenance experience would be preferred; however, full training will be given.
- You will have excellent electrical engineering skills, preferably with good PLC controls knowledge, and you will have a recognised electrical engineering qualification NVQ3, HNC or 18th edition.
- You will demonstrate good customer service and communication skills and you will be of a friendly disposition.
- You will be required to undertake extensive travel throughout the UK including some weekends.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 40 hrs + OT. Regular weekend work with excellent rates of pay.
