My client is one of Northern Ireland's leading specialist façade companies, with an excellent industry reputation built on 25 years of experience delivering multi-million-pound contracts across retail, commercial, educational, and healthcare projects in Ireland and the UK.
They seek to recruit a full-time permanent Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. You will be involved in supporting the commercial management of façade packages, including curtain walling, windows, cladding, and associated envelope works, from procurement through to final account. Previous façade experience would be advantageous, but is not essential, as full support and development will be provided.
Key Tasks:- Assist with the commercial administration of live façade projects.
- Support the preparation of subcontractor and supplier enquiries.
- Help with obtaining, reviewing, and comparing quotations.
- Assist in the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and commercial reports.
- Support the measurement and valuation of works completed on site.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of interim valuations and applications for payment.
- Maintain accurate project records, including orders, costs, variations, and correspondence.
- Work closely with project managers, designers, procurement staff, and site teams to monitor project progress and commercial performance.
- Assist in the preparation of final accounts.
- Attend internal and external project meetings.
- Degree qualified, or working towards a qualification, in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline.
- Façade, curtain walling, cladding, or building envelope experience is desirable but not essential.
- You’ll have good numerical and analytical skills linked to strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- You’ll have good communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working as part of a team and building positive working relationships.
- You’ll be competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Full driving licence may be preferable depending on project and office requirements.
The role offers exposure to a wide range of commercial activities across live projects, training and mentoring from experienced commercial and operational staff, long-term career progression within a growing business, and an attractive salary package to reflect experience (£35k to £40k negotiable).
Hours of work: Mon to Thursday 8:30am - 5:00pm, Fri 8:00am - 1:30pm. Benefits include a subsidised healthcare plan, life assurance, pension with employer contribution, death in service benefit, and 30 days holiday including statutory holidays. The facility is smart and modern, based near Lisburn.
