My client has grown to become a class leading company in the supply of aluminium doors and windows. Operating since 2001, they design and supply architectural glazing systems for installation in commercial and residential buildings across NI and ROI. They are committed to developing products that perform to the highest levels while combining the strength, durability and lightness of aluminium. Our products, through recyclability are some of the most sustainable within the marketplace.
Due to continued business expansion they seek to recruit a Technical Fabricator (Aluminium Systems) to join our Research & Development team. This isn't your standard production role; we are looking for a highly skilled Aluminium Fabricator to be the first person to build our next generation of products. You will be the "bridge" that turns new designs into reality and the expert who ensures our customers can build them perfectly too. You will have access to a fully equipped workshop to support this.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prototyping & R&D: Fabricating "First-of-Kind" products from technical drawings. You’ll be testing tolerances, checking fitment, and providing feedback to the design team on "manufacturability."
- Testing & Certification: Building precision samples for air, wind, and water testing to ensure our systems meet industry standards.
- Field Problem Solving: Occasionally heading onsite to investigate technical issues, providing hands-on fixes and feedback to prevent future occurrences. Driving licence required.
- Training & Mentorship: Developing "Best Practice" guides and leading training sessions for our fabricator internal production teams on how to fabricate and install our systems correctly.
The Ideal Candidate
- Aluminium Expert: Deep experience with architectural aluminium systems (curtain walling, windows, doors, or storefronts). (PVC fabricator would be considered.)
- A Technical Mind: You don't just follow a manual; you understand why a system works. You can read complex technical drawings and spot a potential issue before the saw touches the metal.
- The "Teacher" Gene: You are patient and clear when explaining technical processes to others.
- Solution-Oriented: When a profile doesn't fit or a seal leaks, you don't just report it - you help find the fix.
- IT: Experience in the use of computers would be an advantage. (Training will be provided)
What we offer
- The successful candidate will be rewarded with an attractive salary/package to reflect experience.
- Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm, 4pm finish on Friday, with a unique FRIDAY OFF every 2nd week!!
- Annual Bonus, Pension, Private Healthcare.
- 30 days holiday.
- Smart offices are located near Lisburn.
- Driving licence required.
- Exciting opportunity to join a well-respected company in a thriving industry.
