We are looking for an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join our client’s fabrication team based in Taunton. This is a permanent, full-time position offering long-term stability, overtime opportunities, and the chance to work in a modern, well-equipped workshop on a wide range of bespoke architectural and structural steel projects.
The Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be working as part of a skilled fabrication team, producing high-quality architectural, secondary, and structural steelwork. Raw materials are CNC pre-processed to ensure accuracy and consistency, supporting efficient and high-quality fabrication.
Typical Projects Include:
- Feature stairs, access stairs, gantries & walkways
- Balustrades and handrails
- Balconies
- Structural steelwork
- Bespoke architectural metalwork
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabrication and welding of bespoke steelwork
- Reading and working from fabrication drawings
- Working effectively as part of a team
- Maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail
- Meeting production targets and deadlines
The Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in fabrication/welding
- Background in fabrication or manufacturing
- Apprenticeship or BTEC Level 3 in Welding/Fabrication (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Experience with tube bending machines and robotic welding systems, or a strong willingness to learn
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Positive attitude with excellent attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach with good planning and organisational skills
Working Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Overtime available
