Job Title: Doffer / Spinning Mill Operative Location: Baildon Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour Hours: Alternating Shift Pattern (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM / 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM) Contract Type: Temporary Are you a reliable worker looking for a hands-on role in manufacturing? Staff Selection UK is currently recruiting a Doffer / Spinning Mill Operative for a client based in Baildon. This role is ideal for individuals who are physically active, quality-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment. Full training is provided, making this a great opportunity to gain experience in textile manufacturing. Key Responsibilities * Carry out doffing duties safely and efficiently on gilling machinery. * Remove completed sliver cans/full packages and replace them with empty packages to maintain continuous production flow. * Monitor yarn and material quality, identifying and reporting machinery faults or irregularities promptly. * Ensure finished materials are correctly labeled and transferred to the correct area. * Follow strict health, safety, and manual handling guidelines. * Maintain clean and safe working areas in line with company housekeeping standards. Requirements * Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or textile environment is desirable (spinning mill experience is a bonus, but not required). * Physical Capability: Comfortable standing, walking for extended periods, and carrying out repetitive manual handling tasks in a busy, noisy mill environment. * Work Ethic: Punctual, dependable, and safety-conscious with strong attention to detail. * Flexibility: Willingness to work the required 6–2 / 2–10 shift pattern.
