Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Field-Based (Monday – Friday)
Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Overview:
An opportunity is available for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a busy and expanding team. This is a predominantly field-based role involving routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs of equipment at customer sites, as well as attending breakdowns. Ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background, particularly in diesel engines or heavy plant machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled service and maintenance work on both rental fleet and customer-owned equipment
- Diagnose and repair faults on a range of machinery and systems
- Prepare equipment for hire, ensuring readiness and reliability
- Install and commission temporary power supplies to site accommodation (including wiring when required)
- Load and unload equipment and tools as needed
- Participate in the on-call rota for breakdown support
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Accurately complete and submit all required documentation
- Ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are managed in line with internal procedures
- Keep assigned vehicles clean, roadworthy, and serviced in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
- Report any defects or issues with vehicles promptly
Experience & Skills Required:
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering (preferred)
- Experience working with diesel engines and/or heavy plant machinery (preferred)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and take part in a call-out rota
- Understanding of safe working practices
