To set, operate, and maintain press brake machinery used in the manufacture of metal components, ensuring products are produced accurately, safely, and in line with engineering drawings and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake machinery to bend and form sheet metal components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, job sheets, and technical specifications.
- Select and install correct tooling, dies, and machine settings for each job.
- Carry out machine adjustments to achieve accurate dimensions and quality standards.
- Perform first-off inspections and regular quality checks during production runs.
- Measure finished components using gauges, rulers, verniers, and other measuring equipment.
- Ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved efficiently.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and report faults or breakdowns promptly.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
- Work closely with fabrication and production teams to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Follow all company health & safety and quality procedures at all times.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience as a Press Setter, Press Brake Setter, or Press Brake Operator.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Experience setting and operating press brake machinery.
- Good attention to detail and quality standards.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing health & safety procedures.
