To carry out high-quality welding and fabrication of ground-engaging buckets and attachments, ensuring all work meets required safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding using 1.2mm bare wire
  • Complete multi-run fillet welds to a high standard
  • Work on plate thicknesses ranging from 6mm to 200mm
  • Use oxy/acetylene cutting equipment safely and effectively
  • Operate general hand tools for fabrication tasks
  • Interpret basic engineering drawings (if required)
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Meet production and quality targets
  • Undertake a weld test as part of the role

Essential Requirements

  • Time-served Welder/Fabricator
  • Minimum 2 years post-apprenticeship experience
  • Experience with MIG welding processes
  • Ability to perform multi-run welding
  • Competent using hand tools and cutting equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality

Desirable Requirements

  • Valid crane certificate (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience in heavy fabrication or earthmoving equipment

Working Hours & Pay

  • Shift Patterns: Nights: Mon-Wed: 21:00 - 07:30, Thurs: 20:30 - 07:00
  • Pay Rate: £17.22 per hour (including shift allowance)
