We are currently recruiting on behalf of a busy and well-established practice seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to join their team. Key Responsibilities: Managing hospital referrals via the Electronic Referral System (ERS) and processing community referrals using AccuRx Copy typing and preparing referral letters, forms, and clinical correspondence accurately and efficiently Managing and maintaining ERS and EMIS worklists Handling incoming telephone enquiries and emails, taking appropriate action or escalating when required Processing requests for patient records, including insurance reports, solicitor requests, and other third parties Managing administrative forms such as travel claims, private medical forms, and firearms licensing Raising invoices for chargeable work (e.g. private reports and medico-legal documentation) Liaising with hospitals to chase referrals and resolve pathway issues Actioning tasks within EMIS Web, Docman, and Klinik systems Supporting the wider team with general administrative duties as required About You: Previous experience as a Medical Secretary within a GP practice or healthcare setting Strong working knowledge of EMIS Web and the Electronic Referral System (ERS) Experience using AccuRx, Docman, and Klinik (desirable) Excellent organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail Strong communication skills with a professional and proactive approach Ability to manage workload effectively in a busy environment Additional Information: You may be required to attend training sessions and staff meetings, which may occasionally fall outside of normal working hours This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive practice and play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient patient administration.
