We are currently seeking experienced Locum GP Practice Nurses to join friendly and supportive GP practices in North Shields. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled nurses looking for flexible work within a busy primary care setting. Primary care experience is essential. Applicants must have recent experience working within a GP practice and be confident managing a range of treatment room duties independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cervical screening (smears)
  • Childhood and adult immunisations
  • Travel vaccinations
  • Wound care and dressings
  • Chronic disease management (desirable)
  • Health promotion and NHS health checks
  • ECGs, venepuncture and blood pressure monitoring
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Accurate clinical record keeping using GP clinical systems

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration
  • Recent GP Practice/Primary Care nursing experience (essential)
  • Competent in treatment room procedures
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Up-to-date mandatory training and immunisation status
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
