Staff Match are recruiting for a hands-on Nursery Manager to join a well-established nursery in Colchester, Essex. The ideal candidate must have experience of managing Ofsted Good or Outstanding settings. If you are highly organised, energetic with excellent knowledge of EYFS curriculum planning we want to hear from you.
Person Specification
- NVQ level 3 Childcare qualification or equivalent
- Experience of leading and motivating teams
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Desirable)
- Paediatric First Aid (Desirable)
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
Nursery Manager Responsibilities
- To work closely with the nursery directors and strive to deliver outstanding care and education
- To manage occupancy and parent show arounds
- To prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections
- To ensure all staff understand and comply with all nursery policy and procedures
- To coach, mentor and lead the nursery staff team with emphasis on promoting good practice in all areas of nursery operations
- To ensure EYFS curriculum is effectively embedded in practice
- To carry out regular staff supervisions and appraisals, identify training needs
- To effectively plan staff rotas and ensure correct adult/child ratios are maintained
- To ensure children’s observations, assessment and development records are maintained
- To promote diversity and equal opportunity
- To work in partnership with parents forming caring and trusting relationships
- To manage staff meetings, nursery open days and parents evenings
