Part Time Staff for Education are seeking a reliable and proactive School Site Manager to support a Primary School in the Sutton‑In‑Ashfield area. This role is 20 hours per week, working 2pm‑6pm. This position is available to start as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring an effective and efficient caretaking, cleaning and maintenance service across the whole school.
- Opening and locking the school premises, responding to alarms and securing the site when required, including emergency situations.
- Ensuring the security and safety of the school buildings and grounds.
- Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Monitoring and maintaining plant and equipment, including heating systems and boilers in line with regulations.
- Completing and recording regular health and safety checks, including fire equipment and water outlets.
- Maintaining external areas, including litter removal, clearing drains, salting surfaces and snow clearance when required.
- Overseeing contractors on site, ensuring compliance with health & safety and safeguarding procedures.
- Supporting planned and reactive maintenance, repairs and improvements to the premises.
- Undertaking manual handling duties, including moving furniture and setting up spaces for school activities.
- Carrying out cleaning duties as required, including windows and graffiti removal, and supporting the cleaning team.
- Being available for evening or weekend call-outs for school events or to ensure site safety and security.
- Ensuring compliance with all school policies, including safeguarding, health & safety and equality policies.
Requirements
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Online Update Service.
- Have previous caretaking, site management or maintenance experience (school-based experience desirable).
- Have a good understanding of health & safety requirements and risk assessments.
- Be practical, reliable and able to work independently.
- Have good organisational and time management skills.
- Be flexible and committed, with availability to attend outside normal hours when required.
- Have a strong awareness of safeguarding and the welfare of children.
