StaffCo Direct are recruiting for an experienced and driven Transport Operations Manager to lead and oversee our client transport operation, ensuring legal compliance, operational efficiency, and excellent service delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated transport professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day transport activities, ensuring legal compliance, maintaining high service standards, and leading a team within a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the daily transport operation to ensure efficient and cost-effective service delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation and operator licence requirements.
- Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture across the operation.
- Monitor operational performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency.
- Manage, support, and develop transport office teams through coaching and regular performance reviews.
- Oversee transport administration, reporting, and operational systems.
- Work closely with warehouse and operational teams to ensure smooth coordination of activities.
- Support recruitment, training, onboarding, and development of team members.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and performance standards are consistently met.
- Maintain accurate operational and employee records.
- Valid Transport Manager CPC (TM CPC) qualification.
- Previous experience managing transport operations within a logistics or distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of transport legislation, compliance, and fleet operations.
- Proven leadership and people management experience.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced operation.
- Warehouse or broader logistics experience.
- Experience driving operational improvements and implementing new processes.
