How to prepare for a job interview at Staff Assist

Know Your Licences Inside Out

Make sure you’re fully aware of the requirements for the HGV Class 1 & 2 positions. Brush up on your C, C+E licence details and be ready to discuss your experience with different types of vehicles. This shows you’re not just qualified but also knowledgeable.

Be Ready for Shift Discussions

Since the job involves variable shifts, be prepared to talk about your availability. Think about whether you prefer daytime or night-time work and be honest about your preferences. This helps the employer see you as a good fit for their scheduling needs.

Highlight Your Safety Record

Safety is key in driving roles. Be ready to share examples of how you’ve maintained safety standards in your previous jobs. Discuss your CPC training and how you use your Digital Tachograph Card effectively to ensure compliance.

Ask Smart Questions

At the end of the interview, don’t forget to ask questions! Inquire about the routes you’ll be driving, the type of cargo, or the team culture. This shows your interest in the role and helps you gauge if it’s the right fit for you.
