We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Support Worker to join our Supported Living team, providing high-quality care and support to young people aged 16–18. You will play a key role in promoting independence, life skills, and personal growth while ensuring a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day emotional and practical support to young people in supported living.
  • Encourage independence by supporting with budgeting, cooking, education, training, and employment.
  • Safeguard the welfare of young people, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
  • Assist with developing individual care and support plans tailored to each young person’s needs.
  • Support with daily routines, promoting positive choices and behaviours.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with other professionals, including social workers, education providers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Promote inclusion, equality, and diversity within the home.
  • Support young people to build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills for adulthood.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with young people in supported living, residential care, or a similar setting.
  • Enhanced DBS Check registered on the Update Service (essential).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (where applicable).
  • Commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and respect.

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
