Ready to combine deal-making with doing the right thing? As an ESO Category Buyer (External Supplier Operation), you'll own the commercial agenda across ESO-managed categories from strategic sourcing and tough negotiations to supplier performance management. At the same time, you'll be a key player in embedding ESG, sustainability and regulatory compliance into everything we do, ensuring robust EcoVadis engagement and precise Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions reporting that supports our position in a highly regulated healthcare and pharmaceutical environment.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Drive end-to-end procurement for ESO-managed categories, from sourcing and negotiation through contracting, ensuring value, supply continuity and compliance with internal governance.
- Act as the key procurement partner for assigned categories, shaping category and sourcing strategies, engaging suppliers and managing performance against commercial, service and quality KPIs.
- Lead or support commercial negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms and robust contractual obligations, delivering measurable cost savings and COGS reduction.
- Embed ESG and sustainability requirements into supplier contracts, ensuring clear, measurable and enforceable obligations, and hold suppliers to defined ESG standards (including EcoVadis expectations).
- Enable accurate Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions reporting and customer sustainability submissions by coordinating validated supplier data, audit evidence and ESG documentation.
- Collaborate across Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality, Legal and Commercial to integrate ESG, regulatory and risk considerations into procurement decisions, underpinned by effective PO-to-Pay processes, KPI reporting and governance.
What We Are Looking For
Essential
- Experience working in a procurement, supply chain or commercial role, ideally within a regulated environment (pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG or manufacturing).
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to analyse costs and to dive into contracts and supplier proposals ultimately to work with suppliers to build valuable deals.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable
- Experience supporting supplier ESG, sustainability or compliance activities.
- Familiarity with ESG frameworks, supplier assessments or sustainability reporting concepts (e.g. EcoVadis, Scope 3).
- Knowledge of SAP or similar procurement systems.
- Experience working with suppliers in a regulated industry environment.
