We are looking for a skilled Electrician to install, maintain, calibrate, and repair the advanced instrumentation and control systems that operate our pharmaceutical product manufacturing processes. This is your chance to transition from an electrical engineering or instrumentation background into the exciting world of automation engineering and pharmaceutical manufacturing, with full training and development provided!
In this role, you’ll ensure the smooth and safe operation of equipment measuring pressure, temperature, and flow, while mastering sensor adjustments, camera calibrations, and once trained, PLC troubleshooting. You’ll be at the forefront of eliminating defects, optimising machine operations, and driving innovation all under the guidance of the Head of Automation.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Expert Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Leverage electrical and PLC (when trained) expertise to swiftly resolve manufacturing issues and optimise machine operations.
- Proactive Maintenance: Drive system reliability through routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and obsolescence management while upholding 6S standards.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain comprehensive technical records, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and uphold industry regulations.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges, mentor junior staff, and manage change control processes effectively.
- Training & Knowledge Sharing: Identify skill gaps, deliver impactful training, and develop SOPs to empower teams and ensure seamless equipment integration.
What We Are Looking For
- HND/NVQ in electrical engineering/instrumentation or related field.
- Proficient in the use of multimeters, diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform complex system tests.
- Ambition to learn and develop skills in PLC and automation in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
