This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and detail-oriented Financial Accountant (ACA qualified) to join a high-performing finance function. Reporting to the Head of Accounting, you will be part of a small team of qualified accountants, working closely with senior finance stakeholders across the business.

The role offers significant exposure to both Group and local reporting, with a strong focus on delivering accurate and timely financial information. Beyond core reporting responsibilities, you will act as a key point of contact for external auditors and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes. This is a role that combines technical expertise with business partnering, offering the opportunity to influence and enhance financial operations within a growing organisation.

  • Meeting Group month-end reporting requirements, including submission and analysis of monthly results to the German parent company (STADA), as well as managing and controlling general and admin expense cost centres.
  • Preparation of year-end statutory accounts and analysis, driving the audit process and coordinating audit deliverables. This includes preparation of year-end stat packs and ensuring efficiencies and learnings from previous audits are implemented.
  • Management of external financial audits, including statutory year-end audits, alongside non-statutory engagements (Department of Health, MHRA etc.).
  • Maintenance of a strong internal control environment, working with finance colleagues and stakeholders to ensure robust procedures and controls are in place and adhered to.
  • Control of the balance sheet, including ownership, preparation, and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts in line with both Group IFRS and local FRS 101 reporting.
  • Ownership and responsibility for CAPEX, Fixed Assets, and Assets Under Construction (AUC) in line with Group IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Ownership and responsibility for lease accounting under IFRS 16.
  • Ownership of ledgers for subsidiary companies and monthly reconciliations for local accounting to SAP ledgers.
  • Ad hoc support and project work across the wider Finance team to ensure overall team deliverables are achieved.

We are seeking a proactive and technically capable finance professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and can balance accuracy with efficiency.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in IFRS and UK GAAP (FRS 101).
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate financial data clearly.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems, along with prior involvement in audit processes and statutory reporting, would be advantageous.
