About the Role

Are you a motivated third or fourth-year law undergraduate or a recent law graduate looking for practical legal experience? Join our in-house Legal & Compliance team as a Legal Intern or Placement Student. This role offers hands‑on exposure to the operations of a corporate legal department, supporting legal administration, entry‑level legal tasks, research, and project work under supervision. Please note, this is not a registered training contract (or Period of Recognised Training) under the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Legal Administration & Team Support: Organise and maintain legal files and records, including contracts, correspondence, invoices and approvals. Support document management processes, including version control, indexing and archiving. Prepare cover sheets, checklists, trackers and legal registers. Provide administrative support to lawyers within the team.
  • Entry-Level Legal Work: Assist with contract administration, logging, tracking key dates and basic data extraction. Support the review of low‑risk or standard‑form agreements under supervision. Draft and update simple legal documents, amend templates and create internal summaries. Respond to routine internal legal queries by gathering background information.
  • Legal Research & Compliance Support: Conduct basic legal research on clearly defined topics (e.g., regulatory background, legal definitions, jurisdictional overviews). Assist with compliance‑related tasks such as policy reviews, training records and due diligence support. Help prepare internal guidance notes or briefing summaries for business use.
  • Learning & Development: Gain exposure to how legal advice supports commercial decision‑making and business objectives. Learn how an in‑house legal team collaborates with commercial, operational and regulatory functions. Attend relevant internal meetings or training sessions to deepen your understanding of legal processes.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Essential Qualifications & Skills: Currently studying for a law degree (LLB or BA Law) in your third or fourth year or recently graduated. Prior internship, placement, paralegal or administrative experience (legal or non‑legal). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Professional and discreet approach to handling confidential information. Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Desirable Attributes: Interest in pursuing a legal career post‑graduation. Willingness to explore basic automation, document management tools or process improvements (e.g., contract trackers, workflow automation).
