Are you a Facilities and Utilities Engineering Manager with a passion for operational excellence and leadership? We’re looking for a dynamic professional to take charge of managing utilities and facilities at our pharmaceuticals manufacturing site, ensuring seamless operations, cost efficiency, and compliance with the highest standards. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead a team of talented Facilities & Utilities Technicians, oversee service contracts, and drive financial and legislative compliance—all while maintaining continuity and excellence for our on-site utilities. You will own the operation, maintenance and improvement projects across key site infrastructure including boiler systems, purified water plants, compressor house, chiller plants, HVAC, hot/cold services and HV & LV power systems.

How You Will Make an Impact
- Operational Contract Management: Coordinate Facility Management & Utilities procurement projects to ensure timely and complete delivery, while driving supplier performance improvements and resolving escalated issues.
- Management of On-Site Service Contracts: Ensure service contracts (e.g., canteen, security) comply with audit and site standards, monitoring service quality and addressing discrepancies with providers.
- Utilities and Facilities Maintenance: Develop facilities strategies, ensure compliance with utility standards, and collaborate with the Environmental Manager to meet legislative and site requirements.
- Financial Control: Create and manage budgets, minimizing maintenance costs and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
- F&U Maintenance: Optimize preventive maintenance plans, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency while reducing delays and backlogs.
- Performance Monitoring & Improvement: Track maintenance KPIs, analyse trends, and implement improvements to enhance cost efficiency, scheduling, and resource allocation.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous operational (Facilities Management & Utilities) experience within a large pharmaceutical manufacturing / distribution facility.
- Experience of at least two of the following systems in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment across design, upgrade, installation, continuous improvement processes: boiler systems, purified water plants, compressor house, chiller plants, HVAC, hot/cold services and HVL & LV power systems.
- Experience of managing external contracts and suppliers.
- Knowledge of UK legislation for buildings and facilities.
- Knowledge of asset management and inventory systems.
- Buildings and facilities management experience.
