About The Role
As the Associate Director – Local BD&L, you will lead and shape the UK Local BD&L agenda, focusing on driving growth in the Generics portfolio. This hands‑on leadership role involves managing the end‑to‑end opportunity pipeline, from proactive search and origination, through evaluation and negotiation, to deal execution and lifecycle support. You will play a critical role in transitioning external consultancy support into a sustainable in‑house capability, aligned with Global BD&L frameworks while meeting UK‑specific needs.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Establish and lead the Local BD&L operating model for the UK, ensuring alignment with Global BD&L frameworks and local needs.
- Own and actively deliver a UK‑focused Generics opportunity wish list, including launch opportunities, portfolio gap‑filling and risk mitigation strategies.
- Proactively identify, qualify, and engage potential partners such as CMOs, CDMOs, API suppliers, dossier owners and distributors.
- Lead commercial, financial, and strategic evaluations of BD&L opportunities, developing strong business cases in partnership with Finance.
- Drive end‑to‑end negotiations for local deals, ensuring compliance with governance, legal and procurement standards.
- Build strong internal and external relationships, acting as the senior UK interface to Global BD&L and positioning STADA UK as a partner of choice.
- Monitor market trends and provide strategic insights to enhance portfolio planning and pipeline development.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Degree in Business, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field; MBA or advanced qualifications are desirable.
- Significant experience in pharmaceutical business development, licensing, or portfolio strategy, with a proven track record in Generics.
- Deep understanding of UK generics market dynamics, supply models and launch processes.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including business case development (NPV, IRR, scenario modelling).
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Existing network of partners (e.g., CMOs, CDMOs, dossier providers) and a passion for the generics market.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and mapping tools, with familiarity in databases and prescription NPL processes.
